The Club history is a little sparse to be honest. The Club was originally set up by a couple of enthusiasts, John Brame and Paul (surname not known). In the early 80’s, 1984 was muted. The first Northrepps Model Flying Club was based on the old Northrepps airfield just on the outskirts of Northrepps Village.

For various reasons it was decided that the airfield would be moved to it’s current site under the watchful eye of Chris Gurney, the airfield owner. Ground work began in 2007, and the field was opened in 2008, the  Model Club moved with it and we have been here since. As the site is an active airfield we co-exist with the Microlight Flying School, a group of Para-Gliders and regular airborne visitors of all sorts.

The Club has over this time maintained its original objective of being a Club whose sole interest is enjoying the flying of Model Aircraft with the members supporting the Club, the Airfield and each other in this endeavour.  This means we only have rules that we feel are needed, the main ones being ‘Common Sense Prevails’ and  ‘Enjoy your hobby’. If you check our rule book you will see this reflected there, I hope.

We are open to fly every day of the year that the weather permits. We can currently fly from 08:00 to 20:00 or dusk. All other times are quiet electrics only. We do not allow Jet Engine models to be flown due to surrounding crops.

Other Clubs: Please feel free to copy and use any of our content. We are one big family of flyers and should be prepared to help each other wherever possible. We hope our efforts will be a starting point for you and save you time and effort.
